Foggy Summertime Spring Ranch Wedding » Mendocino, California » Erin Prado for VCP

Where the forest meets the sea, Molly and Sam found their perfect slice of California. The Mendocino coast had captured their hearts during a weekend getaway, making Spring Ranch the natural choice for their wedding day. They were drawn to the rare juxtaposition of towering redwoods and rugged coastline—a dramatic contrast rarely found elsewhere in the state.

Adding to the charm was Mendocino's distinctive New England character, deliberately designed to evoke coastal Maine towns—a meaningful connection for many of their wedding guests who shared ties to the Pine Tree State. The celebration carried special significance beyond the union of two souls. With their college reunion canceled due to the pandemic, this wedding marked the first time their entire friend group had gathered since graduation day.

The morning began in a lovingly restored Victorian mansion where Molly prepared for the day ahead before crossing to the meadow for her first look with Sam. Coastal fog drifted in from the Pacific, enveloping everything in a soft, ethereal light that seemed to blur the boundaries between earth and sky.

After capturing intimate portraits together, the couple retreated to allow their guests to gather and enjoy pre-ceremony refreshments. Later, everyone returned to the meadow where Molly and Sam exchanged heartfelt vows surrounded by their closest friends and family. The celebration continued with a unique dinner reception featuring an inspired culinary fusion—brick oven Napoletana pizzas alongside Mediterranean and Middle Eastern dishes catered by Huria’s that delighted every palate. As evening fell, the festivities moved to the rustic barn where the newlyweds and their guests danced the night away, pausing only to share slices of cake and assorted sweet treats, creating memories that would linger long after the last dance.
